- Top made of typically Italian split hazel spruce from Val di Fiemme, air-dried for at least 20 years
- Back made of flamed Bosnian maple, air-dried for at least 25 years
- Sides and neck made from the same wood as the back
- Fingerboard made from finest ebony
- The instrument is varnished entirely in the manner of the great Cremonese masters of the 17th century �?this includes: a wood primer based on casein and calcium, an amber-linseed oil varnish specially formulated by Edgar Russ and coloured with pigments to give the instrument a faithful reproduction of the original
